On behalf of the Havelock Mussel Festival Committee, it is our pleasure to invite your organization to participate in the 2012 Havelock Mussel Festival.
Over the past 7 years the Havelock Mussel Festival has carved a niche in the Marlborough and Nelson event calendar as a family focused fun day out, celebrating the contribution that the Mussel Industry makes to the local community and, at a national level, to the New Zealand economy. The 2012 Havelock Mussel Festival will continue to build on this tradition.
Each year up to 6000 people have attended the event and have enjoyed getting to know more about the mussel industry while watching mussel competitions, mussel boat displays, cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, and eating mussels from stalls serving up great food and drink while relaxing to the on stage musical entertainment.
Families with young children are catered for in the Kidzone with free face painting, bouncy castle and other child friendly entertainment.
Preparations are well underway for next year's Havelock Mussel Festival. It will be held on Saturday 17th March 2012 at the Havelock Domain. We have some great entertainment lined up for this year, so stay tuned!
The Festival provides great education on various aspects of the Mussel and Aquaculture industry, and many businesses choose to promote their own involvement through sponsorship of this worthwhile event.
